Hybrid Electric School Buses Provide New Horsepower for Kentucky

The Kentucky Department of Education (KDE) incorporated hybrid electric technology as a specification in the bus procurement process available to all 174 school districts in the state. This effort resulted in the purchase of 157 hybrid electric school buses over the course of this project. In addition, the project supported education and outreach targeting the general public, teachers, local officials, first responders, local media, and others.
